Born in Buenos Aires, and educated at home and in the United States. Early studies include British Literature, Architecture, History and Art History. He later undertook the study of economics, graduating with a degree in Macroeconomic Policies from the Jesuits in Buenos Aires.
A career diplomat, Fernando RAS has been posted in the USA; Africa; Europe and Asia, which accounts for the broad geographical range of his architecture photographs.
An avid photographer all his life, it was while posted in Japan that he took a keener interest in photography as a means of personal expression. In Tokyo he studied for 5 years in the workshop conducted by Canadian photographer Tim Porter.
Since 2000 Fernando RAS has participated in solo and group exhibits in Japan, Cuba, Argentina and the USA. For nearly 2 decades architecture has been his chief area of interest. Recently he has taken an interest in landscape photography concentrating on the pampas region of the Argentine.
